Arkema plans to purchase Den Braven
We are pleased to announce the planned sale of DBEW Holding (“Den Braven”) to Arkema.
The planned sale is subject to the legal information and consultation process involving the Arkema workers council in the Netherlands and to the approval of antitrust authorities in the countries concerned. Closing of the transaction is expected to take place in the last quarter of 2016.
Arkema has, through Bostik, a long history as a leading global adhesive specialist in industrial manufacturing, construction and consumer markets. Bostik & Den Braven are already cooperating as business partners, and share the same values – ranging from customer focus, social responsibility, ethics, the environment and employee values.
With this milestone Den Braven begins a new phase in its rich history. Over the past few years Den Braven has invested heavily in its value proposition & successfully repositioned itself towards a company with a strong customer base, world class manufacturing capabilities and a global presence, supplying to over 100 countries world-wide.
Den Braven will continue to execute its strategy with the support of Arkema, whilst exploring the many possible benefits from being part of the Arkema group. Den Braven and Bostik are complementary; synergies are expected from procurement, a broader product offering and a strong fit in technology and geography. Being part of Arkema opens up opportunities to access new markets and technologies.
Den Braven will be part of the Bostik Group, itself forming part of the High Performance Materials segment within Arkema. Arkema is actively pursuing the development of this segment which should account for 50% of the Group’s sales by 2020.
